Fall Jewelry Inspiration & Giveaway

This necklace has been on my mind for the last few days. I made it for Beadalon a couple of years ago and I've been thinking that I need to make another one so I can wear it this fall! The mixtures of colors and textures still speaks to me. (This design is called Gemstone Style - click here for the materials and instructions.)

Are you dreaming up any special fall projects? Leave a comment on this post to be entered into a random drawing to WIN the 1oth season of Beads, Baubles & Jewels on DVD. I'll collect entries for two weeks and then I'll announce the winner here on the blog.

Oh goodness, how I would love to win that! I don't get BBB here and I would love to see you there. I can tell that it is a fabulous program.

Actually, I just joined a group called Working Artist Inititative. I will be working with other artists in various mediums to spur us on to create a body of work. My goal is to come up with a line of jewelry that is cohesive and something that I won't get bored with doing. I plan to use my Etsy site as a place to sell it and local venues to give me feedback. That is what I am working on!

Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy the day!

Wow! what a great prize.

I always have many fall projects in mind. I have stocked up on copper findings and chains. I have some glass beads and stones. I also want to make some PC components in fall colors and see what comes out when I put them together.

The problem with fall projects is all the stocking up for fall projects! Spacers... more spacers than I know what to do with. Leverback earring findings... I bought in bulk so as not to run out. Focals and turquoise and copper, oh my! I'll never use all this, help!

I have to wear a badge at work and have made beaded lanyards in different colors so they match my outfits. I'm always looking for new beads, new colors, new ideas.

I have a beautiful copper electroplated oak leaf that I'm dreaming of using soon. I used have 2 of them. The first necklace that I designed with a copper leaf sold right away. It's time to do another!

I am a real neophyte at jewelry design and construction. I've done more stash building than jewelry building, that's for sure! One thing I've gotten (and I don't know why) is a bunch of different types, styles & sizes of jasper stones. I was thinking they are such great fall colors that I'd like to do something with them. I just have no idea what! I would love the BBB for inspiration to get me going and education to show me how! Thanks!

I love using copper and gold with fall colors of amber and green and orange. I like to make necklaces and bracelets in different lengths so they can combine and make new pieces.

Great necklace! Fall brings with it so much color and inspiration. I can't wait to begin new pieces with lots of dark, rich colors that are more chunky and bold to balance heavier sweaters and jackets.

I don't get BBB here, I would love to have such a wonderful giveaway.

' looking forward to more of your work. thanks!

What a gorgeous necklace! And I would love to win the DVD.

I was just looking at my necklaces last night and decided that I really need to make some longer ones for fall. I have some longer sterling ones but this time of year is really calling for copper and brass.

Sounds like a great prize! I'm always up for creative learning.

Beautiful necklace! Contemplating making it now... hehe.

I've just discovered Miyuki Tila Beads - I've been doing jewellery making on and off for two years and it's the first time I've come across them - my assumption is that they're 'new'..!

Just trying to think of new designs to use with them using some kind of weave with elastic or wire.

Would also enjoy getting my hands on that DVD...! :)

I would love to win this give away, I recently moved and seem to have left my muse behind, I could use some inspiration

I would love, love, love to get that DVD set. I work on Saturdays during BBB and for some reason someone always turns off my attempts to record it for viewing later!! I think it's a conspiracy to keep me from wanting to visit my local bead stores to buy materials!

I'm hoping to finish up some Dia de los Muertos pieces I've been working on...it's hard to think about fall and winter when it's still 90 to 95 degrees around here.
Great giveaway, we don't get BB&J here either.

That is a GORGEOUS piece! I love the colors and bohemian stylings. :)

For fall, I am working on polymer clay pendants that I've imprinted with real leaves, and then am painting one by one, then stringing.

You can see the first two here:

http://jamberrysong.blogspot.com/2010/08/fall-leaves.html

http://jamberrysong.blogspot.com/2010/09/new-leaf-pendant-necklace.html

It's a lot of work, but it's a lot of fun, too, to then go to my bead collection and try to figure out how to use the pendants.

Fall is so inspiring and it is inspiring to look at other peoples' work, so thank you so much for sharing this! And giving us the opportunity to share with you, too.

:) - jams

This fall I am working with copper. I love the look of hammered copper, but have only worked with silver before. Copper seems to match the fall colors, so that is my goal.

Thanks for the giveaway!

This fall I'm going to be working with brass/antiqe gold, using different size chains in the designs. I'm using pearls, crystals and gemstones along with some polymer clay pendants and earrings I'll be making.

Copper & vintage brass with shades of green beads.
I've also added 'autumn leaves' colored beads to the mix. Fun days ahead!

I was just thinking today about what I can start doing to get ready for fall. I need to find some warm colored glass and start crackin'! (I make fused glass jewelry)

I love to incorporate beads with my fused glass, so I bet the DVD would be pretty neat to win! Thanks for offering such a neat prize! :)

I am getting ready for Winter Holiday craft fairs, I am planning on making snowmen earrings and snowflake pendents. I hope that they will just fly off my craft fair tables. I have all the supplies and just need to sit down and get it done.

By the way, I love your blog and show.

I love the fall, I was a fall baby and the colours of the season here in the Northeast is inspirational.

I work with a lot of fall colors all year round as you can work the richer reds, and oranges into many pieces. Browns, copper and bronzes are always looked for by my customers. Now however the fall colors just take off. My copper wire bracelets, and jasper stone pieces go like crazy.
Love your necklace, it's a wonderful way to combine techniques and materials. I would love to win as we don't get BB&B here.

I am overwhelmed with ideas for fall art! Although I am not drawn to the colors of fall, fall and winter are the times of the year that I seem to have the most energy to create - sort of opposite of what the natural cycleof life embodies, but hey.... it works for me!

Ooh, I would love to win that DVD! I'm still pretty new to jewelry making, so my fall project is going to be reading a lot, watching tutorial videos, learning and PRACTICING!

Fall is my favorite season in my "art" world; I just love the color combinations. I am actually not working on any specific jewelry piece right now but am trying to incorporate some wire work into some ATCs I have to make this month. But that's what I love about art, you can transpose materials from one media to the next and it fits right in.

I'd love to win the video; unfortunately, we don't get that program here!

Oh, I have the my project beads in piles now. I will be using memory wire and stinging czech pressed leaf beads in many sizes, shapes and colors. Between these will be a mix of fire polished rounds in fall colors and 8/0 seed bead 'wheat berry' mix. Some angel charms will be among the strand and a Remembrance charm, with birthstone of my 1st grandson. This will be placed around the vase on my 1st grandson's memorial marker.
This video set would be so very valuable to me, because I have been collecting beads for over a year, but only making small items, mostly elastic bracelts. I have wire, crimps .. everything I need to really start putting great pieces together for my family for Christmas. The shows on video would help me so very much with extra inspiration, information and imagination.

Beautiful necklace!! :) I have a boss who makes jewelry and is always wearing lovely fall colors. She has inspired me to think of something in rich oranges, browns, greens and gold. I'm excited by the possibilities!
