Heart on Fire Necklace

This is a necklace I made for Beadalon's new product supplement and new wire variety packs. The spectacular pendant and glowing orange dichroic glass beads are from Paula Radke. I picked them out last year at the Tucson Gem Shows (definitely worth the trip, by the way!).

I think my friend Fernando Dasilva was the first person to show me how great crystals and dichroic glass look together. The colors are complementary and the different types of shine work together really well. I pulled the colors for this necklace from the pendant: jet, padparadscha, bronze, black diamond. Yummy!

That's a beautiful necklace. I love that color combination. What is the black chain-link-looking segment made of?

Thank you - I wouldn't have thought of the color combination if it hadn't been for that pendant...it's good to branch out of the comfort zone! The black links are polyester chain from Beadalon. I love that stuff.

Normally I'm not a fan of heartburn, but this piece is lovely and truly makes my heart ablaze. :-) Keep up the good work!

You really did a great job of pulling all the colours out of the pendant - the whole thing looks great. I especially like the use of the gray and black striped circular bead.

I agree with the everyone else - the colors in this piece are so elegant. I love the way the polyester chain looks!

Thanks, guys!

The circle bead is a Crystallized - Swarovski Elements twist sew-on stone. It looks striped when the light hits it, but it's really all black...

P.S. Andrew Thornton, you crack me up.
