I've gotten a lot of questions about Bead Stoppers lately, so I've decided to do a giveaway! If you aren't familiar with them, Bead Stoppers are inexpensive little tools that make beading easier. See that springy thing on the right-hand side of this photo? That's a Bead Stopper holding my beads in place.I used to use adhesive tape as my stopper when I had to leave a project unfinished, but these are much easier to attach and remove. Plus, they don't leave a sticky residue or damage the stringing material. Intrigued? Watch the video here.
- Bead Stoppers come in two sizes. Use the larger size for larger beads and medium-large beading wire and use the smaller size for smaller beads and beading thread or thin beading wire.
- To open and close a Bead Stopper, squeeze the end loops. The coil will open in the center, allowing you to place your stringing material inside.
- Clip a Bead Stopper onto the end of a work in progress to prevent beads from spilling; use several to organize multiple strand designs; or use one Bead Stopper to clip several strands together for easy measuring.
Leave a comment on this post to be entered into a drawing for a free package of Bead Stoppers. I'll collect comments for one week and then hold a random drawing. Please include your email address so I can contact you if you win.

I have been working with beads for decades and never used a bead stopper. Lately, however, I have been thinking of purchasing some just to try them out.

Okay, that is just the coolest and I was looking for something that would do the same thing last night.

Hi - I would love to try these out! I have actually had tape slip right off the end of beading wire when I was working on a lariat...not good. Thanks for the giveaway!

I have always wanted to get some of these, as I have had way too many "bead accidents"!
Oh my gosh...I love my bead stoppers. My house would be riddled with stray beads if I didn't have bead stoppers. Not only that I use them to find the correct length of my necklaces without losing beads. What did I do before they had these...I don't know.
Hi Katie, I've never seen Bead Stopper's before but they look like they'd come in very handy! Thanks so much for this chance for your Give Away! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs...
Bobbi
I always see them used on 'beads baubles and jewels TV show', but have yet to see them in a local store. I would love to have some.
Love your blog and TV segments.

That looks like a great idea! (And much easier than the little paper clip thingies I've been using.)
My email is lmd848@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Linda
Thanks for the review on the Beadstoppers. I did not know they are available in two sizes. I bought the larger ones and use them daily. Now I need the smaller ones for my off-loom bead weaving.

Wow! what a great idea! I am going to have to get one of those ASAP. I just had that the problem of having to leave a multi-strand project unfinished this morning and I sat there for a bit with it in my hand, not sure what to do with it!
Hi Katie,
I've seen these but have never used them. I've always attached my clasp on one end to be my stopping point only having later to REMOVE every bead if there is a pattern going on and the measurement wasn't right. I'm fixing to watch the video to see what I'm missing in my beading toolage! Thanks for a chance to win a pack of bead stoppers.

What will they think of next! Way more effective than a bulldog clip. I'd love to win a pack of these.
They look like they'd really be a help - sure could have used them last week!!

Bead Stoppers are great. I just started beading about a year ago and the first lesson I learned is to put on a beadstopper. I was halfway through my project and it got knocked off the table. I hate starting again.

I have been meaning to get some of these to try but hadn't really did any research on them. After reading your post about them I see how convenient they really are and look forward to getting some to use.
I really love all your posts and by reading them have learned a lot of new things so keep them coming..:)
Happy beading,

I've been curious about these-trying to decide if they'd be useful or sit in a drawer waiting to be used...you've convinced me! (now, if I could only win...)

Katie,
Please enter me in your bead stopper contest! I have always wanted to try them out. I've been old school, using scotch tape.
Thanks, Lisa

Bead stoppers--so elegantly simple--why didn't I think of them? I have two that my girlfriend gave me, and they're great. As you said, they beat tape, and are much more portable and easy to work with than many other things I have tried.
Rhonda
I think the bead stoppers are a fabulous invention. Sure beats the bull dog clip.
Those look great. I don't want to enter the contest, though. GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!!!!!! (Although I suppose it'll actually only work out for one of you.)
Katie,
This is great tool! Congrats to you and your family on Parker...love your blog and your spots on Beads,Baubles&Jewels, unfortunately don't get it here in West Central Illinois. Watch it online. Can't wait for the new book.

I like the bead stoppers. I have only found them at bead shows. The local craft stores do not carry them.
I am a new to beading one of the projects I was doing called for a bead stopper I had no idea what it was Now I'll have to get a couple
Thanks
Carol
I LOVE bead stoppers. I used to have such difficulty with my unfinished designs until I found them. I now even use them to close off strands of beads where I've only used some of the beads.

I've heard of bead stoppers, but I never realized how invaluable they are. They sound great. I definetly love to get my hands on one. But, besides that I love beading. I have been beading for about 10 years, I think. It's fun, I can't get enough. I have so many beads and so many projects that I want to make. I enjoy making projects from patterns of others, but I love designing my own jewelry as gifts. It's cool, though, because after awhile ideas just spring into my head and I can't wait to make them come alive or that challenges associated with figuring how to make something jive together. It's a wonder. Thanks for the opportunity to expand my abilities and giving me creative and sound beading advice. You're one in a million, Katie. Thanks again!!
these are great tools
I find bead stoppers very handy, the only problem I have found is the bead stoppers I have seem to leave nicks in my beading wire. Are the ones I have bad or are you not supposed to use them on bead wire?
I hope I'm not to late for this offer, but I thought I would try to enter for this great draw anyway. I have been beading for over a year and have lost many beads by slipping string etc :)
