New Year's Resolution = Organize Workspace

Don't let this happen to you!

Happy New Year! This week is the perfect time to organize your bounty of beads! Organizing your workspace makes finding those precious pendants, fancy findings, and helpful tools a lot easier, and makes creating your masterpiece much more fun. Check out my easy organization tips in the 900 season of Beads Baubles & Jewels.

I tend to get messy as I work (see above photo), so every once in a while I just have to stop and re-organize everything. Divided plastic boxes on shallow shelves, storage rings full of findings, and stacking screw-top containers are lifesavers for me. If you're sprucing up your space this week, I'd love to see your before and after photos or learn your storage secrets. Please leave them in the comments!

Here are some of my favorite new products for getting organized:

Storganizer from Consumer Crafts
17x7x4.5in moss craft storganizer

Tabletop Workbench from Beadalon

Desktop Stacker from Fire Mountain Gems & Beads

Those are great. I especialy like the Beadalon Workbench.

As much as I am a collector of projects, I'm starting to become a collector of storage too!

Hey there!

I began my new year just this way!
I am NOT going to take a picture of what my space looks like, but suffice to say, yours looks pretty tidy compared to mine! hahah

And you know I am afflicted with CONTANEROSIS......so I have to start putting things IN the containers!

Hope your new year was wonderful!

Pam

I couldn't help noticing the "ball chair" that's by your work table. Is there a link to provide information about the chair?

Thank God I'm not the only one working under these conditions!!! :-)

With all the chaos that surrounds Christmas, it is going to be great to get things in order again! I am liking that Beadlon Workbench... Pretty sweet way to get those beading wire rolls under control!

Linda, I have the Gaiam ball chair and really like it. Here's a link:

Cindy, I have a sign in my studio that says, "I'm not messy, I'm creative." Sounds like you need one, too!

LOVED the photo! I share my bead workspace with my cousin and my sister - we HAD to clean and organize in January because piles of beads were starting to slide off the tables. We were relieved to see we aren't the only ones!

A cheapskate storage strategy is to save the plastic boxes that diaper wet wipes come in. Rinse them out, pop the tops off, use a Sharpie marker to write on the side, and you've got a free/recycled storage bin that stacks nicely.
