Received a nice surprise in the mail today - the April issue of Craftrends magazine. It includes an article about the vintage jewelry trend written by yours truly. Melanie Brooks-Lukacs from Earthenwood Studio; Brenda Schweder from Miss Cellany and Iliana McGrath from Blue Moon Beads all contributed quotes and pix.I'm really happy with how the article turned out. The pictures are great and give a good at-a-glance overview of what vintage style is all about. BTW, If you make and/or sell arts and craft stuff for a living, you should subscribe to Craftrends. It has lots of good industry info and news you can use.
This is the second article I've written for Craftrends and it has been a cool way to flex my old journalism muscles. I labor over every word, with my trusty thesaurus by my side and frequent conversations with my personal editor (otherwise known as mom - thanks, mom!). I really enjoy the researching and reporting aspects of this kind of writing and it makes me realize that I need to do it more.
