One of my friends is getting married next weekend (congrats, Becky & Todd!) and she asked me to make a simple jewelry set for her to wear. She found a pretty hair comb that has crystals and pearls wire-wrapped onto it, so I used that for my inspiration with her jewelry. I started out with alternating 6mm crystal pearls and 4mm clear AB crystals because she wants to keep it very basic. But it was so plain, I just couldn't bear it. Adding the 8mm pearls added a lot of texture without getting too crazy. I hope she likes it!
I used silver-plated Beadalon 49 for the stringing wire. The silver-plated wire looks fab with the clear crystals and I chose .018" because it's the thickest diameter that will work with the sterling EZ-Crimp™ clasp. The beads are from Swarovski.
She wants simple drop earrings, but I couldn't resist making a few to choose from. I wonder which ones she'll pick? I'd be tempted by the briolettes, but she isn't a big sparkle girl.

Just gorgeous, Katie! She will adore them all! Hugs to you, Paris
Thanks, Paris! Hugs back at ya.
I made some very simple designs like this for my friends wedding. I think with wedding jewelry, the simpler is the better...nothing too gaudy that takes away from the bride!
So classic-fabulous today and in 50 years!
Beautiful, Katie. My son is getting married and my future daughter-in-law wants me to make jewelry for her to wear. Not sure how ornate to make the necklace. If you look at Bride magazines they are showing huge necklaces. But I think I prefer simply elegant, like yours!
When I got married, I envisioned a big, rockin' necklace. But I started designing it and ended up with a really simple combination of pearls and gemstones...not at all what I had in mind, but it ended up being perfect with my dress!
