Remember that crocus pic from yesterday's post? Well, today felt like a Friday afternoon so I decided to whip up this fun little number. Let's call it an ode to spring. There are 78 bead links, but who's counting? It actually went pretty quickly. I caught up on the last couple of Fresh Air podcasts while I worked. (Terry Gross interviewed REM - go listen!)
Someone recently asked me for ideas to use bead mixes. This type of design is perfect for bead mix packages or it makes a great way to use up leftover beads. It's really about the color, so don't labor over the selection of each individual bead.
These beads are all from the Halcraft line at Michaels. The eye pins and clasp are from Beadalon. This slide clasp is common in sterling silver, but you don't often see them in base metal like this. It's a little tricky to work with as you design, but it helps the finished necklace fit nicely at the back of the neck.
