Beading Cones

Today, let me sing the praises of beading cones! Their original purpose it to cover the ends of multiple strand designs. But, you can use them in lots of other creative ways, too.

For this simple necklace, I used beading cones to cap the pearls. They provide a transition between the pearls and the crystals and their sleek look gives the necklace a really modern feel.

For the earrings, I used beading cones to cover the tops of top-drilled crystal briolette beads. This technique works really well with bicones, too. You just pass a head pin through the bead and cone, then make a wrapped loop outside the narrow end of the cone.
